Governor’s signing of legislation for the road route in Wisconsin
On July 5th Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker signed legislation designating the Rock River Trail Scenic and Historic Route along the river in Wisconsin. The signing ceremony took place in the Governor’s Office in the Capitol. Present for the signing with the Governor were Greg Farnham of the Rock River Trail Initiative (holding the new road sign), Kelley Flury of Sen. Tim Cullen’s office, Cindy Block of Sen. Scott Fitzgerald’s office and Rep. John Jagler of Watertown, Assembly bill sponsor. Sen. Cullen was the Senate bill sponsor. With parallel action by the Illinois General Assembly in May, the scenic road route now extends from the river headwaters in south central Wisconsin to the Mississippi River at the Quad Cities of Illinois and Iowa.
