Come join us for a Rock River Trail Grand Opening Paddle with some paddling adventure and exercise as we paddle the Fur Trader’s Run on the Rock River. This six mile guided paddle, which traces the route fur traders used back in the day when the Rock River acted like a Commerce Highway, will launch at 1:30 PM at Nature at the Confluence. Enjoy the wooded scenery and wildlife on a leisurely paddle as you follow the Fur Traders route down to the Macktown Trading post, where a shuttle will be waiting to take you back to the launch site at Nature at the Confluence. You can expect to be back at the launch site around 4:00. There is one portage required on this trip at the Rockton Dam.
The price for this experience is $50 and includes kayak, paddle, pfd, guide, shuttle, and a good time. You will even pick up some paddling knowledge along the way! Price is $20 for those that have their own vessel. Capacity for the trip is 16, with the first 10 that sign up on the shuttle going from Macktown back to Beloit after the trip, and 11-16 doing a reverse shuttle where you meet us at the take out at 1:00 when we drop off the shuttle and we take you back to the launch in Beloit.
