Come out for some nighttime fun on our trails!

Fireflies are fun for the entire family! These luminescent beetles are members of the family Lampyridae. They are reported to be most active in our area between July and October, so we are sure to see a few.

Come out to the Nature at the Confluence to learn more about these amazing insects. We will read a story, learn about behavior, life cycle, and why they glow. Then we will try to catch and observe a few on a nature hike. There will also be a fire and S’mores. Yum!

Registration: This program is held in partnership with Welty Environmental Center. Please register at this link to let them know you’re coming!
