Bass Pro Shops Big Cat Quest Tournament to be held in Rock Falls in 2016

The Bass Pro Shops Big Cat Quest Tournament Series invites everyone to the historic Rock Falls riverfront for the Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series. This team tournament is presented by Bass Pro Shops and will be hosted by Rock Falls Tourism. This is the first ever tournament stop in Rock Falls and is the Midwest Qualifier for the 2016 National Championship to be held in Richmond, Virginia. The tournament has a $10,000 guaranteed payback in cash and prizes. The fishing area would extend from the Rockton dam to the Rock Island dam, just short of the state line at the Mississippi River.

On Saturday, June 25th and Sunday, June 26th 2016, the Rock River will explode with Big Cat action that is both fun and family friendly. Teams of two or three anglers will compete in this two-day action packed tournament which has anglers striving to produce a prize winning top 5 fish. The tournament will weigh-in fish on both Saturday and Sunday beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Rock Falls riverfront venue. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy watching the anglers weighing in the biggest catfish of the day.

Kids Fish for Free!

This two-day tournament stop is open to both amateurs and pro fishers alike. The registration cost is $200.00 for a 2 angler team and $250.00 for a 3 angler team. All children 12 years old and younger fish for free. Early bird registration will be available starting May 2, 2016 and entry forms are available at the Rock Falls Tourism office and on their website at

General registration will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24th at the Eagles Club, 321 West 2nd Street, Rock Falls. The Captain’s meeting and dinner will also take place that evening at the Eagles Club and all participants are encouraged to attend.

Free Catfishing Seminar

The public is welcome to attend a free Catfishing Seminar and a Meet-the-Pros on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club. Come enjoy and get firsthand information from some of the hottest names in Catfishing today. Ken Freeman and the Big Cat Quest staff will be present as well.
